Optimal Station had a unique 4-sided, touchscreen vending machine and they wanted an engaging 4-player game that required players to work together to earn a prize.
We came up with escape room concept where 4 participants would work together to each solve a piece of the puzzle in order to “escape the room” and dispense a prize.
We storyboarded an idea of an astronaut locked in a space station, when a pressure leak is detected. A warning sounds as the doors to the room close, sealing off the pressure leak and locking the astronaut inside. Together the players must work together and communicate to each solve their individual puzzle, which will unlock the large security doors, free the astronaut and dispense a 4-player prize from the vending machine.
This game proved to be a lot of fun and a big hit, especially when paired with the 4-person astronaut ice cream packets that were dispensed as the prize for winning the game.
