Client Challenge
Punirunes — a fast-growing collectible character brand — was looking for an interactive retail solution that would let fans shop for and instantly receive their chosen product. The activation needed to:
- Deliver a fun, on-brand purchase experience that felt true to the playful nature of Punirunes
- Eliminate friction in the buying process — no apps, no lines, no complexity
- Combine digital e-commerce with real-time, physical product fulfillment
- Capture the attention of passersby in retail or event environments
- Create a turnkey vending experience that felt more like a game than a transaction

BGWG Monster Media created a custom vending machine software experience that bridged mobile shopping with real-time dispensing — allowing fans to shop, pay, and receive their Punirune in seconds.
1. Scan to Shop
Fans approached the vending machine and scanned a QR code that launched a mobile storefront. The interface was optimized for speed and mobile usability, allowing users to browse available Punirune characters and select their favorite.
2. Secure Checkout with Instant Payment
Once a selection was made, fans checked out via a secure Stripe payment gateway — no apps or logins required. Payments were processed instantly, triggering the next phase of the experience.
3. Instant Product Dispense
Immediately after the purchase was confirmed, the vending machine dispensed the selected Punirune character in real time. The purchase felt instant and rewarding, seamlessly connecting digital input with physical output.
