The Ford Golazometro experience was built for the Ford Copita events and was geared toward Latino soccer fans. Ford wanted to give them a fun experience that would be memorable and shareable on social media, promoting a greater audience reach than just the event itself.
To capture the excitement of soccer players, we built a custom iPad app that monitors a player’s decibel levels as they scream. The “goal” of the game is to do your best Andrés Cantor impression while screaming “GOAL” for 15 seconds.
The app measures the decibel level average for the entire period and gives each player a ranking on a leaderboard that is attached to a central database server. A video is also taken of the player as they yell and is delivered to them via email and allows them to share via Facebook and Twitter right from the app.
This was an extremely popular experience that had a huge reach on social media beyond the event itself.
